Incluso, el lugar donde está ubicado y su acceso habla de la construcción radial: los recorridos de las calles son cíclicos, sin principio ni fin.

Esta idea se puede tomar de modo no literal, como cualquier otro planteo. Hágase amigo de su placard, rebusque en lo que nunca usa, y déle una oportunidad. Lo más probable, es que sea una pieza con peso propio, como este edificio, que seguramente muchos no lo hubieran ubicado en esta zona. Preséntele usted a otros compañeros de ropero, y vea si se llevan bien. Lo más probable es que haya alguna prenda que le pueda hacer compañía, y usted lo ignoraba. Que su inentario de pilchas no sea como un iceberg. Si de su placard solo un 20% está en uso, haga algo al respecto: use el otro 80%, o regálelo, o sométalo a una cirugía mayor e intervéngalo para que sea más de su agrado.

Not being a clone can appear to be difficult, but I can assure you it’s not. It only takes willpower and not allowing yourself to follow every dictatorial shape. Everyone can stop measuring everything making comparisons with the rest, and start seeing things from a more personal place, without being small-minded. Life is not a competition. A lot of people live their lives as it is set out for them, with every “stage” provided, and aren’t even aware of the situation. This people don’t live, they survive, letting time slip through their fingers. But in the meantime, they make other’s life their own, establishing value judgements on everyone else. Since a clone’s life is boring, it seems as they try to steal a little bit from the ones who aren’t, only to season it. There are those who manage to realise this, even though it’s considered “too late”, but it’s never too late to stop being part of a non-thinking mass. Use your body to the fullest, don’t abuse of your sight using it only to gaze without making a personal interpretation. Contemplating in a superficial way is the same as seeing your food is rotten, and eating it anyway.

Como la vida de clon es aburrida, parecería que tratan de hurtar un poco de los que no lo son, aunque sea para sazonar un poco la propia. Algunos logran darse cuenta de esto, aunque sea considerado “muy tarde”, nunca es tarde para dejar de ser parte de una masa no pensante. What’s socially expected can categorize some things as mandatory, even in fashion, and it all depends on the context. Lo esperado socialmente determina algunas cosas como mandatorias, incluso en la moda. Lo mandatorio se determina por el contexto. Probably the reason why the dinner table of any given holiday is packed with foods high in fat and calories is not mainly for the sake of the celebration itself, but as a defense mechanism to prevent relatives from EATING EACH OTHER. The only people who don’t stress over the holidays, are those who spend those days with friends. Friends are chosen, unlike the family. This can only mean that family doesn’t choose independent minds as relatives, quite the contrary, the family is compelled to mantain a perfectly cordial relation with them for the fear of going against of what’s expected. In other words, they are not accepted as they are, even through indifference (possibly just denial). Relatives try to mold them into their expectations, and fail miserably (yes, it is pure evil and rebellion to be true to yourself). They get frustrated and try to hold it in and stand those hours praying that they restrain themselves and adjust. Rather than tolerate, it’s best to try to understand others, and if that’s not possible, then discuss, explore, and finally accept. Actually, that would be peace and love, not fixed botox smiles even when a flying glass shatters and bursts into a thousand pieces.

My hopes for every year is for society to lower the level of violence in every way. In other words, to be less petty, more understanding, and respectful in every sense of the concept.

Probablemente la razón por la cual la mesa de la cena de cualquier festividad está abarrotada con alimentos con altos contenidos grasos y calóricos no sea puramente en pos de la celebración en sí, sino que actúe como un mecanismo de defensa para evitar que los parientes SE COMAN ENTRE SÍ. Las únicas personas que no se angustian al pensar en las festividades son las que pasan esos días con amigos, los cuales se eligen, a diferencia de la familia. Lo que a menudo significa es que la familia de las mentes independientes no los elige, muy por el contrario se ve obligada a tratarlos por miedo a ir en contra de lo que se espera. Mi anhelo de todos los años es que la sociedad baje el nivel de violencia en todos los niveles. Es decir, que aprenda a ser menos mezquina, más comprensiva, y respetuosa en toda la extensión del concepto.

How To Make An Efficient Suitcase / Cómo Hacer Una Valija Eficiente

The first thing that needs to be done is to determine the type of travel that is going to be performed.

Si se va al desierto, no va a llenar su valija de tacos, ¿o si? De igual manera que con la temperatura, hay que llevar una alternativa de emergencia para situaciones no programadas, ¡¡qué mejor que las sorpresas de un viaje!!
• Cuánto: Cantidad de tiempo. Los ítems que hay que llevar para cubrir un rango ámplio de posibilidades no puede ser mayor al resto de los elementos. Y bajo ningún concepto puede llevar más de 2 cambios de ropa por día. Los acusados que hacen a esta salvedad son los que parten con exceso de equipaje (Sí, me ha tocado compartir viaje con una de ésas… De más está aclarar que no fue un viaje fluido.)

También hay que tener en cuenta que la valija se convierte en la casa. Todas las pertenencias personales necesarias para su supervivencia tienen que estar, pero nada debe sobrar. Si el peine es su mejor amigo, llévelo, pobrecito; pero no más de uno. Del mismo modo, la ropa tiene que funcionar como una cápsula. Si tiene ideas muy estrictas sobre cómo usar cada prenda (según color, forma, etc), verifique que todo lo que lleva sea intercambiable entre sí, y se pueda usar con todo. Si esto le resulta complicado, separelo en dos grupos. Si su modo de vestir responde su estado de ánimo, arme estos grupos con las variaciones que sigue su humor.

La salud es otra de las cosas que se proyectan al hacer la valija. Nadie quiere preveer un dolor de cabeza, o un ataque de alergia, pero si sucede, es mejor que lo tenga a mano, y no que tenga que perder tiempo de su viaje en comprar medicamentos, especialmente si viaja a un destino cuyo idioma desconoce, o si viaja a un lugar con poca civilización mercantil (la gloria, y el horror).

Finalmente, no la abarrote sin piedad, tiene que quedar un espacio libre, no solo si piensa adoptar cuanta porquería se le cruce, sino porque al hacer la valija, uno posee cierta paz que no suele al re-hacerla, y lo que parecía entrar cual engranajes, de repente parece tener un resorte al fondo.

Don’t Worry, You CAN Be Happy! / No Tema, Ud. PUEDE Ser Feliz

Have you ever wondered why the idea of  ​​happiness is advertised as utopian, and sometimes conceived as a sign of irresponsibility? Depending on what’s more convenient, it leans towards one extreme or the other. But for whatever reasons, happiness never seems to be the product of a mental projection. Many institutions teach us to feel guilt for being happy, and be afraid of it instead, to the extent that one tries to avoid at all costs. Usually, we see in Hollywood sleazy films that the protagonist, apparently happy, lives acutally miserable in many ways, until the dramatic event transforms him into a responsible person (as opposed to their happy life), and fully adhere to the system, preferably working for a major company in an office most of the time. We must re-educate ourselves, like with many other concepts that awful people established thousand years ago.
Masochism (mental, not with black latex), and self-censorship are synonyms, and prevents us to feel good about ourselves. As always, we have to start from the overall picture, the basis of the problem. If there are problems in the foundation, the surface will always be a disaster. The thought that happiness lies in small things, leads to focus in the details and live isolated moments of instant gratification, rather than a bunch of great moments with their little gifts as well. It is key to start to known yourself and respect whoever you are, without letting any external pressure of any kind force you into something you are not. That will only delay the well-being feeling. Have an opinion of your own, about everything: what and how to think, what to eat (if the recepy says 200 gr of carrots, and you like it better with 300gr, THROW FEARLESS THE 300 gr. IN THERE!), how to act, what makes you laugh, and what else could this blog tell you? How to dress! Everything we do, are choices we make. That responsibility is noone else’s. The difficulties are determined the amount of importance you give to each aspect of life. But if there is something you do not like about your life, change it. Is it hard? Is it easier to be unhappy? Doing what you love should not be rare. It can be hard, but the reward is no regrets if you know what you want. People who are miserable while they are making an effort, deserve all my respect, but not those who are miserable by choice while trying to convince the rest that they have no other option. Be happy, and don’t piss everyone else off.

¿Alguna vez se preguntaron por qué la idea de la felicidad se promociona como algo utópico, y en ocasiones concebida como indicio de irresponsabilidad? Según la conveniencia, se tiende hacia un extremo, o al otro. Pero jamás la felicidad es producto de una proyección mental propia. Muchas instituciones nos educan a tener culpa por ser feliz, y a tenerle miedo, al punto de que uno intenta evitarla a toda costa. Usualmente en películas chotas de Hollywood el protagonista que vive aparentemente feliz es miserable en muchos aspectos, hasta que el evento dramático hace que se convierta en una persona responsable (en oposición a su vida feliz), y se adhiera de lleno al sistema, preferentemente trabajando para alguna empresa importante, en una oficina la mayoría de las veces. Hay que re-educarse, al igual que con muchos otros conceptos que gente deleznable instauró hace mil años.

El masoquismo (mental, no con latex negro), y la auto-censura son sinónimos, y se contraponen a sentirse bien con uno mismo. Como siempre, hay que empezar desde lo general, la base del problema. Si hay problemas en los cimientos, la superficie simpre va a ser un desastre. Pensar que la felicidad está en las cosas pequeñas, es quedarse en los detalles y vivir momentos aislados, de satisfacción instantánea, y no un conjunto de grandes momentos, con sus pequeños regalos también. Algo necesario es empezar por conocerse bien, y respetarse, no forzarse a un molde por presión externa de ningún tipo, eso solo retrasa la sensación de bienestar. Tenga opinión propia, en todo: qué y cómo pensar, qué comer (si la receta dice 200 gr de zanahoria, y a ud. le gusta con 300gr, MÉTALE SIN MIEDO LOS 300 gr.!), cómo comportarse, qué le resulta gracioso, y ¿qué le podría decir este blog? ¡Cómo vestirse! Todo lo que hacemos, son elecciones que tomamos. Esa responsabilidad no la tiene nadie más. Las dificultades vienen al determinar la jerarquía de la importancia que le damos a los distintos aspectos de la vida. Pero si hay algo que no le agrada de su vida, cámbielo. ¿Es difícil? ¿Es más fácil ser UN infeliz? Hacer lo que uno ama no debería ser algo raro. No tiene por qué ser fácil, pero la recompensa es que no hay arrepentimientos si se conoce que es lo que uno quiere. Las personas que son miserables mientras están haciendo el esfuerzo, merecen todo mi respeto, no así los que son miserables por elección mientras intentan convencer al resto que no tienen otra opción. Sea feliz, y no joda al resto.

It could sound like a sob from a hurt soul, all bitter because it questions it’s own context, but in fact that person may be the most hopeful one in the world. Whoever says that complaining is annoying, is either hiding something, ignoring it, or has no interest in resolving the issue whatsoever. Complaints come from discomfort, and the urge to communicate that feeling. Doing so, beyond seeming superfluously, attempts (even if unconsciously) to take it back to a pleasant place. Some people draw the line on what is objectionable and what is not, when in fact they are limiting what is fixable. If the complainant is a dreamer, the conformist a negligent and accomplice to the problem persistance. It is obvious the position of the language forgers in this area. They accept everything as it is given and move like pin-ball balls, bouncing off the walls containing it and being deflected if necessary. Arbitrary rules, the inexplicable establish are simply feet shackled slaves to the whims of society censoring. The aversion to addressing a subject does not make it go away and trying to deflect the issue in order to draw attention to another one downplaying the first one, attempts to create an illusion of movement that not only does not lead to anything, but is also very annoying to us complaining.

Puede sonar como un sollozo de un alma en pena, amargada porque que cuestiona su entorno, pero en realidad puede que sea la persona más esperanzada del mundo. El que dice que quejarse es ser molesto, es porque oculta algo, lo ignora, o no tiene interés en la solución del tema. La queja proviene de un descontento, y la necesidad imperiosa de comunicar esa sensación. Al hacerlo, más allá de lo que parezca superfluamente, se intenta (así sea inconscientemente) revertirlo y llevar la situación a un estado agradable. Hay quienes trazan una línea sobre lo que se puede objetar y lo que no es necesario, cuando en realidad lo que están limitando es lo que se puede solucionar. Si el quejoso es un soñador, el negligente es un conformista y cómplice para que el problema subsista. Desde ya se anticipa la posición de los que forjan el lenguaje tienen ante esta temática. Acepta todo tal como se le es dado y se mueve como una bolita de pin-ball, rebotando contra las paredes que la contienen y para desviarla si es necesario. Las reglas arbitrarias, los impuestos inexplicables no son más que grilletes en los pies esclavos de los caprichos de la sociedad censuradora. La aversión a tratar un tema no hace que desaparezca, e intentar desviar el problema y llevar la atención a otro para restarle importancia al primero intenta generar una ilusión de movimiento que no solo no conlleva a nada, sino que es muy molesto para nosotros los quejosos.

Manners and Hypocrisy / Modales e Hipocresía

The etiquette rules evidently were altered by time, and what was born as a sing of respect, is nowadays a phoney way of avoiding conflict, that may well not arise, if faced instead of resorting to pretended friendly evasives. Currently, communication is reduced to an exchange of predetermined phrases, that have to be answered by the designated sentences. Should you avoid the use of these, you will be regarded as rude or weird, and others will ask themselves what could possibly be the problem that prevents you from using the established sentences. This leads to the robotization of the human being. The only problem that help desks meant for running errands have is that the options they offer are not sufficient, therefore they never resolve your problem on the firts run. Sometimes the way to achieve it, is to try to figure out which number should be entered into the system in order to be transfered to a human, (this option usually has something to do with payments)… However, if the human turns out to have more automatic responses that the machine, we are in a dead end, and facing the death of communication.

The problem is that avoiding conflict is misunderstood as avoidingcontact. Despite being more comfortable, and even cowardly, it is not more practical. Situations where one is forced to interact with people are also part of our days, and to forethink they will be bitter makes us rot inside unnecessarily. For example, at the repeated thrusts of a stranger, one usually grumbles, but do not proceed to declare cordially to the pusher “you are pushing me, please cease.”. Is it really more polite to just keep quiet and exhale effusively while staring at him with venom oozing from the eye to the aggressor (tacitly expressing fervent hatred)? Not only would it be much more cordial and REAL to communicate your discomfort and to request kindly not to be bother anymore, but also, this mode provides a charming SOLUTION without resorting to violence. Needless to say that in the initial state of the interaction one clings to any ill-thought remark that may be needed should one not be compensated satisfactorily. To say it blatantly, if the offender fails to cooperate, there is nothing left to do but to insult him for being rude, and if you’re of the vengeful type, then it’s ok to push him back.

Las reglas de cortesía evidentemente se fueron deformando con el tiempo, y lo que había nacido como un signo de respeto, hoy en día es una falsa manera de evitar conflicto que puede perfectamente no surgir, si se afronta en vez de recurrir a las evasivas cordiales. La comunicación actual se reduce a un intercambio de frases armadas predeterminadas, a las cuales les corresponden las respuestas indicadas. En el caso de evitar el uso de alguna de éstas, se procede a entrar en pánico y preguntarse cuál será el problema que impide a la otra persona usar las frases preestablecidas. Esto conlleva a la robotización del ser humano. El único problema que traen las líneas de atención para hacer trámites es que las opciones que dan no son suficientes, por ende uno no puede resolver su problema. A veces la manera de solucionar este problema es tratar de dilucidar cuál número hay que introducir en el sistema para que lo comuniquen con un ser humano, usualmente esta opción tiene algo que ver con pagos… Sin embargo, si el humano resulta tener réplicas más automatizadas que la máquina, estamos en un callejón sin salida, y frente a la muerte de la comunicación.

El problema es que se confunde evitar conflicto con evitar contacto. A pesar de ser más cómodo, a veces incluso cobarde, no es más práctico. Estas situaciones donde uno es forzado a interactuar con personas obligatoriamente también conforman nuestros días, y proyectar que van a ser amargas necesariamente envenena internamente. Por ejemplo, ante los repetidos empujones de un extraño, usualmente se refunfuña, pero no se procede a declararle cordialmente al empujador “me está empujando, por favor cese”. ¿Es realmente más educado callar y exhalar fuerte, mientras se le clava la mirada con veneno supurando del ojo al agresor (expresando tácitamente el odio ferviente)? No solo sería mucho más CORDIAL y REAL comunicarle la molestia sufrida y solicitarle que AMABLEMENTE no moleste más, sino que ésta modalidad provee una encantadora SOLUCIÓN sin recurrir a la violencia. De más está decir que en el estado inicial de la interacción uno se aferra a toda referencia vil que se pueda necesitar en caso de no ser compensado satisfactoriamente. Dicho en criollo, si no coopera, no queda más remedio que insultarlo por ser un MAL EDUCADO, y si se tiene espíritu vengativo, se lo empuja de vuelta.

Echo-Friendly

It just so happens that one day, it’s5ºC, and you find yourself walking down the streets fast enough to make it to your house before water finally falls off your nose. Even though you are practically running, you cannot feel your feet at all. Finally, you manage to reach your doorstep, and your neighbourg who knows exactly who you are, in spite of always pretending otherwise, is there, greeting a friend goodbye. Her friend, in a Cruella-de-Vil-like fur huge coat, woolen trousers and high boots, without even saying “hello” dares to tell you “Don’t tell me you’re cold!” in a obnoxious tone, making fun of you. A thousand proverbial questions rises in your head while you try not to answer, and search for a fitting undefined smirk that would end this social treat immediately before violence overcomes you and your your eyebrows start to raise and your nostrils widen. How not to be rude, when the fact that someone thinks that your body temperature is their bussiness is already rude to begin with? Is even that supposed to be the same for everyone? Have they never been told by a doctor that every body is a different world? Well, mine is below zero, so YES; OBVIOUSLY I AM COLD, OTHERWISE I WOULD BE WEARING LESS CRAP!

I realize the human being is afraid of the unknown, or what he doesn’t comprehend, therefore he develops cathegories of everything in order to try to understand, and that leads to forcing people into a mold. But can you really be afraid of someone who’s colder than you?

Luckily, freezing in a place like this makes it more bareable, until you are forced to tolerate an intolerant.

De repente sucede que un buen día, hacen 5ºC, y te encontrás caminando por la calle lo suficientemente rápido como para llegar a tu casa antes de que el agua termine de gotear fuera de tu nariz. A pesar de estás prácticamente corriendo, no podés sentir tus pies en absoluto. Finalmente, lográs llegar a la entrada de tu casa, y  tu vecina que sabe exactamente quién sos, a pesar de siempre pretender lo contrario, está ahí, despidiéndose de una amiga. Su amiga, en un tapado de piel de proporciones abismales al mejor estilo Cruella-De-Vil, pantalones de lana y botas de caña alta, sin siquiera decirte “hola” tiene el tupé de decirte ”¡No me digas que tenés frío!” en un tono extremadamente molesto, prácticamente riéndose de vos. Mil preguntas proverbiales se apilan en tu cabeza, mientras tratás de no contestar, y buscás alguna mueca indefinida adecuada que termine inminentemente con este deleite social antes de que la violencia te inunde y se apodere de vos, tus cejas empiecen a levantarse, y tus fosas nasales a abrirse. ¿Cómo se puede evitar ser tajante, cuando el hecho de que alguien piense que tu temperatura corporal es asunto suyo ya es impertinente de por sí? ¿Supuestamente eso debería ser igual para toda la raza humana? ¿Nunca les dijo un doctor que todos los cuerpos son mundos diferentes? Bueno, el mío es bajo cero, así que ¡SÍ, OBVIAMENTE TENGO FRÍO, SI NO, NO TENDRÍA PUESTAS TANTAS PORQUERÍAS!

Entiendo que el ser humano le tiene miedo a lo desconocido, o a lo que no comprende, y por ende desarrolla categorías de todo para tratar de entender, y eso conlleva a que se fuerce a la gente dentro de algún molde, o clasificación. Pero, ¿se le puede realmente tener miedo a una persona más fría que vos?

Por suerte, congelarse en un sitio como éste hace que sea más soportable, hasta que sos forzado a tolerar a un intolerante.

An Autumn Memory / Una Memoria de Otoño

Memory is a great influence on perception. For instance, if we see a circle, and afterwords a half-circule, we would perceive it as the original full circle hidden behind a plane. We invent this plane where the circle can hide because we remember we saw it before. So, what should happen with people with poor memory, or a very good one? If we have an appalling image archive in our minds, establishing asociations gets tricky. This becomes evidently when you go out in a violet pickpocket’s hoody and somebody shouts at you “little red riding hood”… In which case, my indignation is based on the inexistant relation between both things, rather than having to stand someone unnecessarily shouting at you in the streets. In this frenzied times, there is a tremendous wealth of information, and relatively accessible, but we have to discriminate what’s valuable from the forgettable. Is the responsability of the personal viewpoint. If your memory is vast, and you have developed an addiction for images, then we could say that perception opens up to multiple possibilities.

In that case, a plastic open shoe with wings wouldn’t be just a summery footwear, but a waterproof platform that will separate yourself from puddles, making it perfect for puddly days.

La memoria influye en la percepción. Por ejemplo, si vemos una circunferencia, y a continuación un semicírculo, lo percibiríamos como la circunferencia original escondida atrás de un plano. Inventamos un plano donde se pueda esconder la supuesta circunferencia porque recordamos que la vimos antes. Ahora bien, ¿qué debería pasar con la gente que tiene escasa memoria, o muy buena memoria? Si tenemos un mísero archivo de imágenes en nuestra cabeza, se dificulta establecer asociaciones. Esto se evidencia cuando uno sale a la calle con una campera de carterista con capucha violeta, y le gritan “caperucita roja”… En cuyo caso, mi indignación se concentra en la poca relación que hay entre una cosa y la otra, más que alguien innecesariamente le grite a uno por la calle.

En estos tiempos frenéticos que corren hay un caudal de información grosero, y relativamente accesible, pero está en uno rescatar qué vale y qué es olvidable. Es la responsabilidad de la mirada personal. Si la memoria tiene un vasto alcance, y uno tiene una adicción por las imágenes, podríamos establecer que la percepción se amplía en múltiples posibilidades.

En este caso, una “sandalia” de goma con alas no sería únicamente un calzado veraniego, sino una plataforma impermeable que lo separa a uno de los charcos, haciéndola ideal para días charcosos.
